Khan (r) and Peterson: Rematch set for May 19

Amir Khan has promised to stop Lamont Peterson in next month's eagerly-awaited rematch in Las Vegas.

Khan lost his WBA and IBF light welterweight titles to the American in a controversial split decision last December, after being docked two points for 'pushing'.

The Bolton boxer, who is currently training in the Philippines with Wild Card stablemate Manny Pacquaio, has no plans to rely on the judges this time round when they face-off again on May 19.

"I really am feeling strong and powerful at this stage and know that by the time of the fight I will be even stronger which is crucial because you don't want to peak too early," Khan told his official website.

"Sparring for this fight has been excellent and I'm taking on a lot of bigger guys who are similar to Peterson in order to prepare for me for this fight.

"I'm really focused for this fight and am not looking beyond Peterson and May 19. This camp has been one of my most secluded and private to date.

"I've just got my head down and trained hard and have not done the amount of media work I usually do during my camps.

"I'm determined to win back my belts and am ready to jump into the ring today if that's what it took!

"This fight will be different to the last one and I'm aiming to produce the stoppage this time round."
