Kell Brook will put his unbeaten record on the line against Carson Jones in his home town of Sheffield on July 7.

Brook told Sky Sports' Ringside programme he will tackle the American - beaten just once in his last 19 fights - in an eliminator for the International Boxing Federation's welterweight title.

Jones is ranked third by the organisation - two places above Brook - while top-rated duo Mike Jones and Randall Bailey contest the vacant title next month.

And Brook, who won a unanimous decision over Matthew Hatton in March, said: "I'm ready to get on the world stage now.

"I thought I was too nice against Hatton. Against Carson Jones you're going to see the nasty Kell Brook - you'll see me pushing the fight and being aggressive."

Would-be welterweight Amir Khan remains the long-term target for Brook, who said: "I'm in the mix now and it's just a matter of time. That's the fight we all do want to see."

The Sheffield bill will also feature two European title fights.

Gavin Rees and Derry Mathews will meet again for the lightweight belt after last October's fight was declared a technical draw following a clash of heads.

Meanwhile, Welshman Kerry Hope will take on Surrey-based Pole Greg Proksa for the middleweight crown. It is another rematch with Hope having won the title in their first meeting.
