Junior Witter has set his sights on a world title shot against WBC welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi.
The 38-year-old rolled back the years at the weekend to become the oldest British title holder at 147 pounds when he earned a unanimous points decision over defending champion Colin Lynes.
Witter, a former WBC light-welterweight world champion, believes he is still capable of fighting for world honours.
"I want to go onwards and upwards. The European and Commonwealth titles are realistic, anything like that before the end of the year," Witter told the Bradford Telegraph and Argus.
"And then I'm looking to go for the world next year. The fight I definitely want right now is Malignaggi.
"That would be perfect for me. He's good and tricky and a counter-puncher as well but I'd be too strong."
Witter, trained by the Ingle camp in Sheffield, fully intends to carry on boxing beyond his 40th birthday.
"They say I'm too old but I'm the youngest 38-year-old you'll ever find," he added.
"Someone asked me recently how long I'd carry on and I said until 40. But 50's the new 40 and that's another 12 years!
"If I'm not getting hurt and I'm carrying on beating people at that level, then I'm comfortable and I'm carrying on."
