Rain washed out the second day of the third and final Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Pallekele.

Heavy rain ensured the covers stayed on throughout the morning and, with little improvement in the weather after the lunch break, the umpires had no choice but to call off play for the day.

Sri Lanka, who lead the series 1-0, will resume on Tuesday 44 for three in reply to the tourists' first innings' total of 226.
