Martin Saggers: Decided there would be no play

The LV=County Championship match between Somerset and Lancashire at Taunton was abandoned without a ball bowled on the final day because of heavy overnight rain.

The downpour continued during the morning, leaving much of the ground under water, and umpires Neil Bainton and Martin Saggers decided shortly after 10am here was no prospect of play.

Somerset were due to resume their first innings on 87 for three in reply to 400 and took six points from the game, while Lancashire collected nine.
