Indian Premier League leaders Delhi Daredevils produced some brilliant bowling at the death to claim a one-run victory over Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan looked on course to chase down their target of 153 when they needed 15 runs off the last two overs with nine wickets in hand.

But Morne Morkel conceded just three and dismissed Brad Hodge in the penultimate over before, with two needed off the last ball, Owais Shah was run out to leave the Royals stranded on 151 for three.

The in-form Ajinkya Rahane finished unbeaten on 84 off 63 balls, while Rahul Dravid made 40.

Earlier, Delhi made 152 for six, based largely on Virender Sehwag's quickfire 63 off 39 balls.

Mumbai Indians defeated whipping boys Deccan Chargers by five wickets in a low-scoring match at the Wankhede Stadium.

Deccan have now won once in eight matches and were bowled out for just 100 as Lasith Malinga worked his familiar magic with four for 16.

Harbhajan Singh, with two for 13, was even stingier in his four overs, while James Franklin also kept the scoring down with two for 18.

Shikhar Dawan top-scored with 29 at less than a run-a-ball, while JP Duminy managed 25 not out in 24 deliveries.

Mumbai did not knock off their target with quite the ease that might have been expected, largely due to Dale Steyn's four-over return of two for 10.

But 42 in 48 balls from Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu's 19no at the end were enough to see the hosts to 101 for five with 11 deliveries remaining.
