Yasir Arafat: Has agreed a deal with Lancashire

Lancashire have confirmed they have agreed a deal to sign Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat for this season's Friends Life t20 campaign.

The 30-year-old has previously had spells with Surrey, Sussex and Kent, however he will now arrive at Old Trafford as their second overseas player for the tournament.

Arafat, who has made 21 appearances for Pakistan in all formats of the game, joins compatriot Junaid Khan and will add depth to Lancashire's bowling attack while providing some useful lower order batting.

Lancashire cricket director Mike Watkinson told the club's official site: "The addition of Yasir to our squad emphasises our determination to progress in the Friends Life t20 tournament and we are delighted to have him on board.

"Our squad doesn't have the depth that we have been accustomed to and Yasir brings experience and skill to fulfil this important role for us."
