Jonny Bairstow: Test debut at Lord's

Jonny Bairstow has qualified for an incremental England contract following his Test debut at Lord's last week.

The Yorkshireman was not among the initial group of contracted players for the 2011/12 season but collected enough caps to earn the additional payment.

Incremental deals can be won by non-contracted players on a points basis - with five points for a Test appearance and two for a Twenty20 or ODI.

Bairstow has played five ODIs and four Twenty20s for England since his debut last September and was selected for his second Test at Trent Bridge this morning.

ECB national selector Geoff Miller said: "This award reflects the contribution Jonny has made both to the limited overs squads and more recently to the Test team and we congratulate him on his achievement."
