The family of Tom Maynard have given their backing to the idea of a trust fund being set up in memory of the former Surrey cricketer.
Maynard died last week at the age of 23 after being hit by a London Underground train.
A statement, released on Monday on behalf of his family on Surrey's official website, said: "Over the last few days the idea of setting up a trust fund in memory of Tom has been suggested and this is something that the family is interested in developing.
"An announcement on this will be made in due course.
"However, it is understood that if anyone would like to make a donation they can do so by sending a cheque, made payable to 'The Tom Maynard Trust', c/o Jon Rees, Carston Accountants, Tudor House, 16 Cathedral Road, Cardiff CF11 9LJ."
An inquest into Maynard's death has been opened and adjourned and his funeral will be held next Wednesday in Cardiff.
Maynard, son of former England cricketer Matthew, was born in the Welsh capital and began his career at local county side Glamorgan before leaving for Surrey in 2011.
Monday's statement said the family had been "incredibly touched" by the support they had received since the batsman's death.
It read: "Matthew, Sue (Maynard's mother) and Ceri (his sister) have been incredibly touched by the volume and sincerity of the many tributes that have been paid to Tom, and they want people to know that they are especially grateful for the many hundreds of cards, letters and messages they have received over the past week.
"The scale of the support has been of real comfort to them."
