Jonas Olsson: Set for West Brom talks

West Brom's new manager Steve Clarke is to hold talks with defender Jonas Olsson over his future following Sweden's elimination from Euro 2012.

The 29-year-old has only one year left of his current deal and stressed he would not contemplate his own future while his country were in action in Ukraine.

But their interest in the competition has ended and now Clarke plans to speak with Olsson, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Clarke told the Wolverhampton Express And Star: "I didn't want to intrude too much because Jonas was out there representing his country and it was a big tournament for him.

"Unfortunately it hasn't worked out for Sweden but I wanted to leave Jonas just to concentrate on his country.

"Hopefully between now and the report back for training date, I'll get the chance to meet him and have a chat with him.

"Ideally I want to keep all the contracted players and bring in another two or three that can help them.

"That would be the ideal scenario, although it doesn't always work out like that. Jonas is a key player for the team and the club and I'll do what I can to keep him here."

Albion remain adamant they have received no inquiries for Olsson, who played a key role in them finishing 10th in the Barclays Premier League last season.
