Rafael van der Vaart has insisted that he has not had any contact with Hamburg, despite continuing speculation that they are set to launch a bid to re-sign him.
The Dutch midfielder is still worshipped by Hamburg fans after a hugely successful three-year stint in Germany prior to him joining Real Madrid in 2008.
Reports now suggest that Hamburg-based billionaire Klaus-Michael Kuehne is ready to help his local club make a new bid for Tottenham playmaker Van der Vaart.
"I am an investor for new players and am definitely available," he is quoted by Bild.
With Kuehne's backing, Hamburg could now make a move for Van der Vaart and the player himself admits he still loves the club.
"I am happy and I am surprised myself how much I still love Hamburg, currently however there is no contact," he also told Bild.
