Darren Ferguson: Focus on Peterborough

Darren Ferguson: Focus on Peterborough

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson, who has been linked with Nottingham Forest, has declared he is happy at the club.

The 40-year-old, currently in his second spell in charge at London Road, was reportedly approached by a representative of the Al-Hasawi family, who are on the brink of a takeover at the City Ground, with a view to becoming Forest's new manager.

But Ferguson has defiantly insisted his future is with the Posh, who he led to npower Championship safety last season.

"We are back for pre-season training on Monday and I and the rest of my staff are looking forward to the new season," Ferguson told his club's official website.

"Myself and the chairman have an excellent relationship and we are working hard together to bring in the players we have identified to strengthen our squad.

"I am very happy at the football club," Ferguson said.

Forest, who still have boss Steve Cotterill at their helm, could be reported to the Football League over their alleged move on Ferguson, though Peterborough are refusing to comment on their position.

"Peterborough United will not comment on media speculation that they have reported Nottingham Forest to the Football League," a club statement read.
