PAYNE A GAIN FOR ALDERSHOT

Dean Holdsworth: Has Josh Payne back

Josh Payne is in contention to return for Aldershot's trip to face Burton in npower League Two.

The midfielder has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury but was back in training on Thursday and will be in the frame for a recall.

Manager Dean Holdsworth will be hard pushed to make any changes after Tuesday's impressive 2-1 victory over leaders Swindon, but the likes of Payne, Jordan Roberts, Mark Molesley, Reece Connolly and Doug Bergqvist will all be pushing for starting berths.

Striker Wilko Risser has shrugged off the knock which forced him off in the late stages against the Robins, with defender Troy Brown passing a fitness test to start the clash.

Ross Worner (back), Alex Rodman (pulmonary embolism) and Michael Rankine (leg) are out for the remainder of the season.

Burton caretaker-boss Gary Rowett must decide whether to make changes.

Albion suffered their heaviest defeat as a Football League club when they lost 7-1 to Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium last weekend.

"Unfortunately we don't have the squad to be able to make eight or nine changes," said Rowett. "You can be assured though that changes have gone through my mind.

"But the players did well for me in the four games before that, so while you sometimes have to make changes you also have to give players the opportunity to put things right."

Full-back Aaron Webster (thigh) and midfielder Jack Dyer (knee) could come back into contention.

Defender Tony James, midfielders Chris Palmer and Cleveland Taylor and strikers Greg Pearson and Adi Yussuf are options for Rowett should he opt to make any changes.
