Brest coach Corentin Martins has shrugged off claims he faces his final match in charge on Sunday as pressure builds ahead of a do-or-die season-ending clash.
Brest head to Evian knowing they are one of eight clubs who could be relegated from Ligue 1 along with bottom-of-the-table Auxerre.
Currently 16th, Brest are level on points with Ajaccio two places below them and who occupy the final relegation spot.
However, Brest's plight is underlined by the fact they are the only top-flight team yet to win away from home this season.
Asked whether he was feeling the pressure, Martins said: "Yes, because nothing is certain. There is a lot of competition from the other clubs, Dijon (in 19th) and Ajaccio, who could win.
"The only people we can rely on are ourselves. Nothing is done. We have to beat Evian to guarantee our place in Ligue 1."
Suggested to Martins it could be his last game at the helm, he replied: "I'm not bothered. The only thing I'm bothered about it is whether the team stays up."
Brest seemed doomed at the end of last month when they suffered a 4-0 defeat at Auxerre, only to take five points from their last three games to lift them out of the relegation zone.
"It shows anything can happen. The players have reacted very well as we have not been beaten since then," added Martins.
"But it's not been easy. I've had to pick myself up, try to find solutions, find energy and rely on my players to get the results.
"Against Valenciennes (a 1-0 win in the last game) we played well and were rewarded for all our efforts.
"I don't want to now be presumptuous by saying we are going to beat Evian, but we believe."
Knowing it could be a tense night on the sidelines, Martins has confirmed he will be keeping tabs on scorelines elsewhere.
"Of course, I'll be concentrating on our game first of all, but there will be one person on the bench who will be keeping an eye on the other games," said Martins.
"However, I don't want that person to give me an update every 10 minutes."
Evian have no such concerns as they are guaranteed to finish either ninth or 10th in their first season back in the top flight.
"Before we celebrate, we must first ensure ninth spot," said defender Fabrice Ehret.
