Danny Stevens: Scored Torquay's winner

Danny Stevens scored the winner in a 1-0 victory which kept Torquay flying high in npower League Two and Barnet looking over their shoulders.

Barnet now head into April without a home win in the last two months as manager Lawrie Sanchez was left to rue striker Izale McLeod's penalty miss in the first half.

Torquay secured victory with a goal in the 49th minute when Sead Hajrovic miscued a clearance and the ball rebounded off his head into the path of Stevens, who sumptuously chipped over Dean Brill.

In the night's other game, Freddy Eastwood marked his first game at Roots Hall for five years by scoring Southend's third goal in a 4-0 win over 10-man Cheltenham.

First-half strikes from Kane Ferdinand and Ryan Hall put Blues ahead before club legend Eastwood got his first goal since returning on loan from Coventry.

Bilel Mohsni completed the rout as Southend recorded their biggest home win of the season.

Cheltenham had suffered an early blow when referee Trevor Kettle had no hesitation in sending off Sido Jombati for fouling Michael Timlin after 19 minutes.
