Hannover coach Mirko Slomka has his sights set on a return to the Europa League after his side were eliminated by Atletico Madrid on Thursday.
A 2-1 defeat at the Niedersachsenstadion - Hannover's first loss at home in all competitions this term - ended their hopes at the quarter-finals stage, but their longest European campaign has given them a taste for more.
"We have lots of beautiful moments and memories in our minds so we would all be pleased to play in Europe again next season," said Slomka, who acknowledged that Atletico were just too good.
"Over both legs, Madrid deserved to win. They were the more mature side.
"What we can take from this is that we have grown in maturity and the high number of games we have played will help us next season too, and we want to go the same way then too."
Hannover captain Steven Cherundolo felt the club could be proud of what they have achieved this season despite the 4-2 aggregate defeat.
"Of course we are disappointed because we had high hopes, but you have got to say that Madrid deserved to go through," added the United States defender.
