Bacary Sagna: Set for three months out

Bacary Sagna: Set for three months out

Bacary Sagna believes Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson intended to cause him harm when putting in the challenge which left him nursing a broken leg.

The Arsenal full-back saw his Euro 2012 dream die on Saturday as he suffered the second leg fracture of his career.

It is expected that he will be sidelined for up to three months, meaning he will play no part in France's European Championship campaign this summer.

Sagna, who broke his leg for the first time during a Premier League meeting with Tottenham in October 2011, feels he is the victim of a premeditated stamp.

He claims Johnson trod on him 'on purpose', but is doing his best to stay positive and focus on the rehabilitation programme that will return him to full fitness.

"He trod on my leg. I think he did it on purpose," said Sagna.

"The play carried on and I got up. When I went to control the ball, I felt a crack just like the first time against Tottenham.

"He trod on me in the same place as the previous fracture. That's what caused the pressure. It cut in two.

"I've come back before and I'll come back even stronger a second time."
