St Johnstone forward Derek Riordan has been arrested over an alleged disturbance at a popular night spot.
Riordan was arrested at the HMV Picture House venue in Edinburgh's Lothian Road in the early hours of Monday morning. It has been reported the 29-year-old became involved in a confrontation with a bouncer.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged assault and breaches of the peace following a disturbance at the Picture House in the early hours of May 7.
"He is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday May 8."
Riordan signed for St Johnstone on a short-term contract in March this year.
He has been capped three times by Scotland and also played for Hibernian and Celtic.
