Germany enjoy victory over Greece.

Germany's impressive form at Euro 2012 continued as the 4-2 victory over Greece booked a place in the semi-finals.

Goals from captain Philipp Lahm, Sami Khedira, Miroslav Klose - with his 17th for his country at a major finals - and Marco Reus secured deserved progression for the Germans in Gdansk.

Joachim Low again saw his side fail to keep a clean sheet as Georgios Samaras made it 1-1 against the run of play, while Dimitris Salpigdis converted a late penalty.

But the result was never in doubt as Germany, who had surprisingly opted to remove Mario Gomez, Thomas Muller and Lukas Podolski from their starting XI, cruised to victory.

The Germans now await the winner of the meeting between England and Italy in the last four.

Low paid tribute to Germany's display after reaching the semi-finals.

"That was a class performance from the team to reach the semi-finals for the fourth time in a row," said Low.

"We can be proud of the team, it was clear that the Greeks could make something out of nothing.

"We failed to take an early lead but we did not panic.

"There were a few changes and I thought I had to change things after three wins."

Sokratis Papastathopoulos revealed the team "fought for the whole of Greece" during the game.

"We scored twice. We did what we could," Papastathopoulos said. "Maybe we could have been a bit more careful but we fought hard, we fought for the whole of Greece.

"We made it to the last eight and this is very important. The Netherlands didn't make it and we are talking about a very big country in football terms."
