Darren Ferguson insists he will not be walking away from Peterborough despite the club's current problems.

Ferguson has come under fire after seeing his side lose all six of their Championship games this season.

Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony pledged his support to Ferguson earlier this week saying he would quit his position if the manager was to leave London Road.

The Posh boss is adamant there will not be a repeat of the scenario three years ago when he left the club after they slumped to the bottom of the Championship table.

They are rooted to the foot again after six straight defeats, but Ferguson claims his relationship with chairman MacAnthony is stronger than ever.

"People have to understand and accept the bigger picture," Ferguson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. "I have a great relationship with the chairman based on mutual trust and respect.

"We both believe we have a successful template in place and we won't waver from it.

"Other clubs like Leicester have copied our method by signing players from the lower leagues and we have now modified ours slightly by trying to promote from our youth team.

"Me and the chairman are in this for the long haul. We are committed to our project and believe it will be successful in the long term. I am certainly not going anywhere. It won't be like last time."
