Sky Bet have opened a book on who will make England's 2014 World Cup squad, with Steven Caulker a 6/4 shot after his debut goal against Sweden.

The firm's trading department reckon they'd have offered 12/1 had they priced the market a week ago, but an impressive performance capped with a goal means the Tottenham defender's case is clear.

"Caulker is 6/4 to make the England squad for Brazil 2014 having impressed against Sweden," said the firm's Chris Spicer.

"Arsenal pair Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere look banker material at 4/7 for those looking for a near-certainty - essentially you're betting on them avoiding injury in the months prior to the tournament.

"Of course, the tournament is still two years away so Frank Lampard - who will be 36 - is one of the less likely at 9/2, but we don't think it'll be Leon Osman who replaces him and offer 10s about the Everton midfielder."

Like Caulker, fellow defenders Carl Jenkinson and Ryan Shawcross made their debuts in Solna - they are 11/8 and 5/2 respectively in the market.

Despite his poor performance against Sweden, Sky Bet make Joe Hart a 1/66 chance to board the plane to Brazil - a price which makes him the most likely player to be named in the squad - with Jack Buckland next in line at 4/9.

"Hart hasn't been at his best of late but he's still the best we've got," added Spicer.

"Butland seems in favour so it could come down to a battle for the third spot, with Scott Carson narrowly preferred by our traders to John Ruddy and Fraser Forster."

England can take a 23-man squad to Brazil and Sky Bet currently have 20 players at odds-on to make that party, including Raheem Sterling, the Liverpool 17-year-old who made his debut against the Swedes. He is offered at 4/6.

The odds-on players are Joe Hart, Jack Butland, Scott Carson, Ashley Cole, Leighton Baines, Ryan Bertrand, Kieran Gibbs, Kyle Walker, Glen Johnson, Chris Smalling, Gary Cahill, Joleon Lescott, Steven Gerrard, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Ashley Young, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.

Micah Richards (evens) and Phil Jones (11/10) are the next most likely, with a host of players then on 5/4.

Among them are Andy Carroll, Jermain Defoe and Daniel Sturridge, with the forwards looking hardest to pick, according to the market.

Wilfried Zaha, another player to make his debut against Sweden, is a 2/1 chance.

The full list of prices can be found on Sky Bet's website. If England do not qualify, all bets will be declared void.
