Solomon Taiwo: May move on this summer

Solomon Taiwo: May move on this summer

Solomon Taiwo is willing to fight for a future at Cardiff but admits he may have to look elsewhere for regular first-team football.

The 27-year-old midfielder, who has one year remaining on his contract, was not part of Malky Mackay's plans last season and joined League One side Leyton Orient on loan in January for the rest of the campaign.

Taiwo joined the Bluebirds from Dagenham and Redbridge back in 2009 and although he concedes his time there has been frustrating, he's now focused on making an impact with whoever he plays for next season.

He said: "I would like a future at Cardiff and do well but the most important for me is to play regularly - that's my main drive.

"Any player will tell you playing week in week out is the most important thing and the time when I was producing my best performances was when I was doing that, and getting the feeling that I had contributed.

"Forcing your way into the manager's plans is the challenge of all footballers but it's one I'm well up for trying to overcome.

"But it has been massively frustrating because I would have loved to play more games and I would have preferred the team to be set up a bit more differently for me. But the past is the past and I'm just looking to the future.

"I've played in the Championship, League One and Two so I can use all my experience to push forward and help whatever club I end up at."
