Sebastian Vettel hopes the impressive pace Red Bull showed at Valencia and Silverstone will allow him a first taste of victory on home soil at Hockenheim.
Red Bull and Vettel dominated the 2011 championship, with the 25-year-old claiming 11 victories as the RB7 proved the class of the field.
While the Milton Keynes-based team have again been among the frontrunners this season there had been few suggestions that there would be a repeat of their 2011 masterclass.
However, Vettel was in a league of his own at last month's European Grand Prix, opening up a huge lead before an engine failure deprived him of a certain win.
And the team followed that up with a first double podium of the year at Sunday's British Grand Prix, as Mark Webber took the win with Vettel third.
The result leaves Vettel third in the championship, 29 points behind leader Fernando Alonso and 16 adrift of Webber before the next round of the championship in Germany.
With Red Bull having shown strongly on two contrasting circuits in Valencia and Silverstone, Vettel is hopeful of closing that gap by improving on his previous German GP best of second in 2009.
A win in Germany would also see Vettel end the anomaly of having never won a grand prix in July. It is the only month of the F1 calendar during which he has yet to stand on the top step of the podium.
"Obviously I am looking forward to the next race," he said. "I am looking forward to Germany. It should be a very good one for us.
"I feel the car is picking up speed, so I definitely feel happier since the last race.
"I think we struggled here last year, Ferrari had the upper hand, so I think this year we have a much better balanced car in that regard.
"So it seems we are on the right track so let's see if I succeed this year.
"It's a race like any other. Sure it would be very special to win, but I don't score more points just by winning my home race."
Red Bull boss Christian Horner is confident that the team can maintain their recent good form, having also opened up a 64-point buffer at the top of the constructors' championship.
He said: "We have now been quick on both kinds of circuit and hopefully that bodes well for the rest of the championship.
"Hockenheim will be another challenge, but there were plenty of encouraging things to take away from this weekend.
"After being quick at Valencia we came to a different specification of track and we have been on the first two rows of the grid in the wet and won the race in the dry and that offers us even more encouragement."
