Jason Dufner: Leads the way

Jason Dufner: Leads the way

Jason Dufner moved into a two-stroke lead ahead of the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, while Luke Donald's bid to reclaim the world number one spot is still very much alive.

Dufner carded a 67 for the second time in three rounds to take his score for the tournament to 17-under par after the third round on Saturday.

Canada's Graham DeLaet shot a 66 in the third round to climb into second place on 15 under, with John Rollins and South African veteran Ernie Els tied for third one shot further back.

Donald is still in contention to reclaim the world number one spot after carding seven birdies in a round of 66 to move into a share of eighth on 12 under.

The Englishman, who is continuing is recovery from a disappointing opening round, went bogey-free on the back nine while also picking up four shots in the process.

"It was just a solid round. I had kind of a slow start on Thursday but 13 under for the last 36 holes is very pleasing and I'm playing a lot better. I'm back here in the mix a little bit," said Donald, who needs a top-seven finish to get back on top of the rankings

Ryan Palmer shot the best round of the day, recording a total of nine birdies as he went round in 64 shots to form an American trio with Steve Stricker and Cameron Tringale in a tie for fifth.

England's Justin Rose and Scotsman Russell Knox are the next best placed Brits on nine under, although the latter will be disappointed to drop down with a round of 74 after being tied for second place following the second round.
