Ryder Cup hopeful Simon Dyson is out of this week's BMW PGA Championship - the European Tour's flagship event - as he tries to shake off a stressed hip injury.
The reigning Irish and Dutch Open champion withdrew from the Players Championship in Florida two weeks ago after the first round.
Dyson, who finished third at Wentworth last year, is replaced in the field by Dutchman Maarten Lafeber.Dyson was due to play with Kenny Dalglish in Wednesday's pro-am, but the former Liverpool manager will now partner former Open champion Ben Curtis.
Four days after the Champions League final Chelsea's Roberto Di Matteo is also playing, but Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has withdrawn. He was originally scheduled to be with son Jamie and Ryder Cup hero Paul McGinley.
Dyson will also miss next week's Wales Open at Celtic Manor, so his next start is likely to be the US Open in San Francisco on June 14-17.
Nicolas Colsaerts, the big-hitting Belgian who won the Volvo World Match Play title on Sunday, is another withdrawal from next week's Wales Open.
