The awards just keep on coming for Luke Donald on the eve of his BMW PGA title defence at Wentworth.

Donald has been awarded honorary life membership of the European Tour after picking up the Harry Vardon Trophy for topping last season's money list, the European Golfer of the Year crown voted for by writers and broadcasters and the Players' Player of the Year trophy - with an amazing 95 per cent of the vote.

"This is special," said the world number two on receiving his membership badge from Tour chief executive George O'Grady.

He becomes the 41st honorary life member a year after Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke, Charl Schwartzel and Lee Westwood joined the club.
