Paul Casey's latest return from an injury lay-off saw him crash from two under par to a six-over 78 at Wentworth on Thursday - and for a few horrible moments it threatened to be a lot worse.
Casey, still troubled by the shoulder he dislocated snowboarding on Christmas Eve, hit four drives into the trees on the long 17th.
To his relief the first ball was found, but because it was unplayable he had to go back to the tee and start the hole again.
After taking a double-bogey seven there and finishing with a bogey six, the 2009 event winner said: "Everything is just a hang-on cut - I'm just not trusting it. I so want to play and I did a good job of faking it, but it's so frustrating."
Casey, world number three less than three years ago, is now out of the top 50 after missing the first two months of this season and then pulling out of the Players Championship and Volvo World Match Play in the past fortnight.
