Troy Kelly: Off to the Open

Troy Kelly will compete in this month's Open Championship following his runner-up finish at the Greenbrier Classic.

The little-known Kelly claimed a place in the Royal Lytham line-up after missing out on the title in West Virginia in a play-off. Ted Potter Jr won the event.

Ranked just 464th in the world going into the tournament, Kelly took his berth as the leading non-exempt player at the Greenbrier Classic.

Potter will also now head to the Open, as will Australia's Marc Leishman.

The weekend results did, however, mean US Open runner-up Michael Thompson missed out on an Open spot.
