Mick Easterby has confirmed the Duke Of York Stakes as the intended comeback target for his star sprinter Hoof It.
The five-year-old, who is owned by leading golfer Lee Westwood and his agent Chubby Chandler, won three valuable handicaps in 2011 and signed off with a close-up third in the Group One Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock.
Hoof It is second to the incredible Australian mare Black Caviar in the betting for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, but he will begin his campaign at York on May 16.
"He's in good form and he'll start off at York," said Easterby.
"I'm happy with him at home. If all goes well at York, hopefully he'll be going to Royal Ascot afterwards."
