Chepstow: Off

Chepstow: Off

Friday's Flat meeting at Chepstow has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

A further deluge this morning on top of all the rain in the previous week left officials at the Monmouthshire track with no choice but to throw in the towel.

"We're not going to get the improvement we needed. This morning I thought we might do, but we re-assessed it and we're not going to improve in time to race tomorrow," said clerk of the course Keith Ottesen.

"We've had 13 millimetres of rain this morning, that's 90mm in the last week - that's nearly four inches - and too much for tomorrow's meeting to go ahead.

"We're waterlogged in places and there's no realistic chance of recovery for tomorrow."
