DOUBLE: Deed Of Gift and Kuilsriver

Deed Of Gift should be given another chance in the wsteams.com Novices' Hurdle at Worcester.

The five-year-old gelding was sent off an even-money favourite on his racecourse bow in February, but proved thoroughly disappointing as he trailed home a distant fourth.

Deed Of Gift is related to a couple of nice runners, though, and given that trainer Jonjo O'Neill's yard were hardly firing on all cylinders at that stage of the year, he could fare much better this time.

Kuilsriver was narrowly denied at Plumpton last time, but he can right the record with victory in the Betfair Racing Excellence Conditional Jockeys' Training Series Final Handicap Hurdle back at the Sussex track.

While yet to strike gold in 11 starts to date, Kuilsriver still has some decent form in the book for trainer Nick Gifford.

A crack at the Lanzarote and in Grade Three company looked a bit above him last term but two recent efforts back in novice company have yielded two runner-up prizes.

A mistake at the last cost the five-year-old dearly last time as it checked his momentum and he was worn down by Nagpur close home.

Gifford's decision to pitch him into a conditionals' race is interesting as Kuilsriver should be able to handle the likely testing ground.

Minella Mistake can prove to be the correct choice in the Plumpton Athletic Juniors Handicap Hurdle.

The Richard Rowe-trained mare showed her turn was near when only going down by a head to Manjam at Fontwell last week.

Soft ground and a gruelling test of stamina over this extended three miles and a furlong should hold no fears for the eight-year-old as she has also run creditably at this track in the past.

As long as she remains in the form she was on her recent outing, the daughter of Witness Box can finally get off the mark at the 15th attempt.

Connections of Duke Of Monmouth will surely be disappointed if he cannot find the target for the first time in the Banner Marquees "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle at Uttoxeter.

Charlie Mann's five-year-old has twice filled the runner-up spot from three starts over timber, most recently beating all bar the talented Seven Woods on his first attempt at three miles at Ffos Las.

The heavy ground he faces in Staffordshire this weekend will play to his strengths.

In receipt of weight from his only conceivable danger, Howard's Legacy, Duke Of Monmouth looks to have been found a gilt-edged opportunity.
