Grumeti is set to run at Royal Ascot after making a successful switch back to the Flat at the Berkshire track on Saturday.
The four-year-old signed off a fine juvenile hurdling campaign with victory in Grade One company at Aintree and Alan King is targeting The Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at the Royal meeting next.
The trainer told his website www.alankingracing.co.uk: "Grumeti has been a real star for us. He ran a great race in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and then gave us what was a magical day when winning the Anniversary Hurdle at Aintree.
"However, we always knew that he was also smart on the Flat, and, having won so well, we might well take him back to Ascot next month for the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap at the Royal meeting.
"Grumeti is such a good doer that we were loathe to let him down too early as he would have put on too much weight, so we opted for a couple of races on the Flat before he has his summer break. That was great and he has earned a chance to go back."
