Simon Crisford: Confirmed setback

Godolphin filly Discourse faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a fractured pelvis when tailed off in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.

The three-year-old was considered a major contender for the fillies' Classic having won each of her two juvenile starts, but trailed home a well beaten 16th of the 17 runners, with stablemate Lyric Of Light behind.

Discourse had been entered for the Irish 1000 Guineas and the Investec Oaks at Epsom, but she is now recovering.

Racing manager Simon Crisford told www.godolphin.com: "It is a great shame as she will miss the summer highlights but hopefully she will be back on the racecourse before the end of the season."
