We have two runners in the Betfred Mobile Sports Handicap. The more rain we get the better for both of them and El Viento ran a blinder first-time-out. We were delighted with him. He drops back in trip here as the owners have two similar types in other races here and we wanted to keep them apart; I'm a little worried about that. Irish Heartbeat will need a bit of luck but they all do in these races. There's not much between my two and I wouldn't like to pick between them.
We're also double-handed in the Betfred Middleton Stakes. Barefoot Lady was a bit disappointing at Goodwood first-time-out in very soft ground. She likes York which is a plus but this looks a very hot race. She'd have to be at her very best to beat these but she's very tough and hardy and I'd be delighted if she was placed.
Myplacelater ran a huge race at Chester last week and the softer the ground the better for her. We're running her back quickly here and again if she was placed I'd be very pleased.
Another race in which we have two runners is the Betfred Hambleton Stakes. Justonefortheroad has been in tip-top form this year. If you'd asked me at the start of the campaign if he could win off 99 I'd have probably said no but he's won here before and is in good order. He has a good draw which is a big advantage too.
I'm a tad worried about the ground for Common Touch and he could just be a touch fresh on his reappearance. If I had to pick between the two of mine it would be Justonefortheroad on this ground but it's a very hot race.
Finally Bispham Green goes in the Stratford Place Stud For International Group 1 Winners E.B.F. Maiden Stakes. I thought he'd run a bit better than he did on his Doncaster debut so we've having another go and seeing what happens. I do like the horse but was disappointed by his debut so he needs to show more here.
