Fire Lily: Reverting to sprinting

Fire Lily: Reverting to sprinting

Fire Lily will be dropped back in trip after her decent effort in the French 1000 Guineas at the weekend.

David Wachman's filly finished fifth at Longchamp behind the unbeaten Beauty Parlour.

She had previously chased home 1000 Guineas winner Homecoming Queen over seven furlongs at Leopardstown, but is now set to return to sprinting.

"She just didn't quite get home over a mile," said Wachman.

"We'll drop her back in trip now, I should think. She might go for the Greenlands Stakes, a Group Three over six furlongs on Guineas weekend at the Curragh."
