Funk Soul Brother: Coventry Stakes target

Funk Soul Brother: Coventry Stakes target

Last week's promising York maiden winner Funk Soul Brother has booked himself a ticket for the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The Charlie Hills-trained son of Cockney Rebel, also owned by Phil Cunningham, was produced to score on his debut by a smooth half a length and is evidently well-regarded.

"Funk Soul Brother has been the apple of owner-breeder Phil Cunningham's eye since he was born and he made a very pleasing debut success at York," the trainer told www.charleshills.com.

"He's pleased us from the word go and although he was ready for the race the experience will have only done him good. All roads lead to Ascot and the Coventry now."
