Pippy: Last again

Pippy: Last again

Wayne Rooney's much-publicised venture into ownership continued to pay few dividends as Pippy finished last again at Carlisle.

Pippy was the first horse to run of a trio the Manchester United and England striker and his wife Coleen have in training with Tom Dascombe when too inexperienced to do himself justice in the Lily Agnes Conditions Stakes at Chester.

The juvenile appeared to have far less to do in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E.B.F. Maiden Stakes, but displayed wayward tendencies when hanging badly left across the track.

Looking unsuited by the course, Pippy was eased home by Tom Eaves in a race claimed by 18-1 shot Lady Ibrox.

The couple's other two-year-old to be seen, Tomway, has only beaten three horses home in two starts.
