Jack Mitchell: On the sidelines

Jack Mitchell: On the sidelines

Jack Mitchell is set for a few weeks on the sidelines after injuring his ankle in Germany over the weekend.

Mitchell was set to be in action at Wolverhampton on Monday but his name was removed from the racecard.

His father, former Epsom trainer Philip, said: "He had an accident in Munich yesterday when a horse reared up and he fractured his ankle.

"He had six rides over there, and it looked a good opportunity to get his face about, but I think he'd only ridden four of them.

"It's a small fracture and they said it will keep him out for three weeks or so.

"The doctor said they could put it in a plaster and he could go home, so it's just a matter of being patient until he can put some weight on it."
