Thursday's meeting at Leicester will have to pass an inspection on Wednesday if it is to go ahead.
The track is currently described as heavy, soft in places with waterlogged patches, but clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson is hopeful of improvement before he takes a look at 1400 BST on Wednesday.
He said: "I'm much more positive than last week. It's the first time we've had no rain for 24 hours in a long time.
"It has improved and we are now down to small areas of waterlogging in the dip.
"The forecast is pretty decent and I'm hoping time will be on our side. It was a general problem yesterday but we're down to small areas now and hopefully another 24 hours will see things improve again."
