Santo Padre (predominantly red silks): Curragh hopeful

Santo Padre will bid to continue what has already been a thrilling few days for David Marnane in Saturday's Woodies D.I.Y. Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh.

Marnane saddled his first Royal Ascot winner last weekend when Dandy Boy stormed away in the Wokingham Stakes, having seen Jamesie finish an honourable second in Friday's Buckingham Palace Stakes.

A winner of the Listed Woodlands Stakes at Naas, Santo Padre was subsequently beaten by potential rivals Tiddliwinks and Mirza in the Greenlands Stakes and Galtee Midsummer Sprint Stakes respectively.

"He's in good form and is going to run in the Sapphire," said Marnane.

"We had a great couple of days at Ascot, especially as we'd been a bit quiet before that. I'll probably run a nice horse called Seanie in one of the premier handicaps over the weekend."
