Sharestan had to give upwards of 10lb to each of his five rivals in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship Celebration Stakes, but he proved more than game for the task.
The only four-year-old in the line-up, John Oxx's Sharestan arrived on the back of another Listed victory earlier in the month at this track.
Learn set out to make all in the mile heat but he was beginning to feel his early efforts turning for home while Johnny Murtagh was sitting pretty in behind aboard the winner.
When he gave Sharestan the signal, the 8-13 favourite responded in style to quickly pull clear and finish three and three-quarter lengths to the good from fellow Aga Khan-owned runner Mizani.
Oxx said: "He's good over a mile. He won over a mile and two here recently but he didn't really stay in the heavy ground.
"He's adaptable ground-wise and he may get a mile and a quarter on fast ground.
"On soft to heavy, a mile is no worry to him and he is a horse that has the potential to step-up in grade. He has to prove that but he went some way to doing that today.
"We thought that he was a horse that could step-up into the mid-teens (in the ratings) and once you get to that level you have more options.
"The Arlington Million would be a possibility, though maybe we'd be flying a bit high."
Rawaaq made an impressive start for Dermot Weld as she claimed the Dubai Duty Free Voyager EBF Maiden, the opening event on Irish Derby day at the Curragh.
Partnered by Pat Smullen, Rawaaq was sent off an unconsidered 20-1 shot for the six-furlong heat but she flew inside the distance to land the prize.
Leitir Mor, who finished seventh in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, looked to have the race in the bag as he took over from the prominent favourite George Vancouver.
However, he had to settle for second, two and a half lengths behind Rawaaq with George Vancouver's fellow Aidan O'Brien inmate Afonso De Sousa swooping late for third.
Weld said: "I think they went very fast early on. Pat was wise to take his time. She came home nicely and she handled the conditions.
"We'll leave her off now and go for a Group race in August.
"She's a filly we've always liked but we were concerned beforehand about her handling the ground as she has shown a lot of pace."
Rock On Ciara finished with a flourish to land the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap.
Joe Murphy's charge was a winner at Listowel earlier in the month but punters were far from confident of a repeat in the seven-furlong contest as they let her go off an 8-1 chance.
Always travelling well in the hands of Shane Foley, Rock On Ciara launched her challenge down the middle of the track and soon powered clear.
She had four and a quarter lengths in hand at the line with Redoutable second and New Magic third.
Murphy said: "I was a bit worried about the ground and she'll go for the Stillorgan Handicap at Leopardstown now.
"Hopefully we'll be able to get a bit of black-type with her. She's an improving filly and she's very game."
Bold Thady Quill showed plenty of guts to grab the glory in the dying strides of the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Handicap.
British raider Spa's Dancer looked to have sealed victory in the mile event when pulling clear but 6-1 shot Bold Thady Quill was not to be denied.
He responded to Foley's every urging to get up by three-quarters of a length and present his in-form rider with a double.
An Saighdiur got the best of a battle with Arctic to claim the Paddy Power Sprint.
A winner at Dundalk in March, Andrew Slattery's charge was always in the front rank under 5lb-claimer Michael Cleere as Arctic raced upsides.
However, when push came to shove, it was 20-1 shot An Saighdiur who had all the answers, prevailing by a length and a half.
Wokingham also-ran Gordon Lord Byron was sent off the 5-1 favourite but could finish no better than third.
