Energizer: Next run likely to be in Munich

Energizer: Next run likely to be in Munich

Royal Ascot winner Energizer is unlikely to be heading to England again in the near future despite his groundbreaking win at the Berkshire track.

The three-year-old colt became the first German-trained horse to win at Britain's premier meeting when he took the Tercentenary Stakes from Sir Henry Cecil's Stipulate last month.

That Group Three success looks to have earned him a crack at the Group One Grosser Dallmayr-Preis over a mile and a quarter in Munich on July 29.

"He has a nomination in Munich at the end of July," said a spokeswoman for Gebhard Apelt, racing manager to the Ullmann family who race the colt under their Gestut Schlenderhan breeding operation.

Before his Royal Ascot triumph, the Jens Hirschenberger trained son of Monsun had finished fourth to the Alan McCabe-trained Caspar Netscher in the German 2000 Guineas at Cologne.
