Richard Fahey with an unmissable guide to his team for the second day of the Ayr Western Meeting.
Bahamamay did everything wrong but still ran a blinder first-time-out at Beverley. He half ran away with Tony (Hamilton) but still stuck to his guns.
The City Refrigeration Holdings (UK) Limited/E.B.F. Maiden Stakes looks between my horse and Anna's Pearl but I really like my fellow, he's a big, strong colt and whatever beats him will win. He's my Sky Bet charity bet.
I'm on my own on this one - but Garswood drops back to five furlongs for the Shadwell Stud Harry Rosebery Stakes. Thankfully owner David Armstrong has backed me and I just feel this horse travels so strongly in his races it's worth trying. He has to step up on what he's shown so far but is talented and we like him an awful lot. It's disappointing he hasn't won yet but the soft ground could just slow the others up a little and Garswood should be coming home well.
We've two runners in the Stena Line Nursery. Majestic Moon is a horse we like and we're very happy with his rating. I thought he'd win at York but things went a little pear-shaped there. He's a big horse and has been a little backward mentally but the experience last time will have done him the world of good. I'd be surprised if he was beaten here - but I said the same at York.
Woodland Mill is very tough and won't mind the ground but can she beat Majestic Moon getting only a pound? Not on what we see at home.
We run three in the William Hill Supporting Dumfries House Ayrshire Handicap. Lord Aeryn goes on any ground and has been running OK. He's still a pound higher than when winning the Summer Cup at Thirsk and Barry McHugh, who rode him there, rides here. Extraterrestrial runs on Thursday so it depends how he comes out of that as to whether he goes again and of my three I prefer Take It To The Max. He'll love the ground, will get the fast pace he needs and is back down to a winning rating again.
Above the Stars is another who is entered on Thursday but if all goes well she's likely to turn out again in the Huntswood Handicap. She'll be joined by Arctic Feeling who has been knocking on the door and goes there in great form and with an each-way chance.
Finally Holy Roman Warrior has been a fraction disappointing but back on soft ground I'd hope he can run very well in the closing Dunne Group Handicap.
Richard will be back on Friday morning with his weekend column
