The well-backed Retrieve was too good for his rivals in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Conditions Stakes at Lingfield.
The son of Rahy was a smart performer in Australia but made little impact in two starts for Godolphin last autumn.
However he was a different proposition here, the 10-3 chance bursting to the front over a furlong out to score by four lengths from Circumvent (12-1).
The much-vaunted World Domination made little impact having raced wide into the home straight, beating only one rival home.
Winning trainer Saeed Bin Suroor said: "He ran well this time. He had a wind operation over the winter that has made a difference.
"The horse showed a good turn of foot. There are no plans for him, but he will improve for his race."
Retrieve came back to unsaddle after unshipping Dettori when jinking after crossing the line. However, to generous applause from the crowd, the Italian jogged back to the winner's enclosure unharmed.
