Clinical went two places better than last year when winning the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom on Friday for Sir Mark Prescott and Luke Morris.
The Motivator filly was always prominent in the hands of Morris and was pushed out to win by three-quarters-of-a-length from Joviality.
Barefoot Lady ran another solid race and was third for Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan.
The winning jockey said: "We wanted to be nice and handy as there wasn't much pace on paper and we were.
"She's really stuck her head out and ground it out well really."
Prescott said: "She was third in this last year, which was a good run, and she won three Listed races in the autumn.
"You can only justify staying in training another year if she wins a Group race, so thank goodness she's done it.
"She's from a very straightforward family and they make training easy - you don't need to be that skilful."
Clinical is now likely to head to Royal Ascot next month. Prescott said: "Mr and Mrs Thompson (Cheveley Park owners) love Ascot and if she's well she'll go for the Windsor Forest Stakes."
