There was some cut in the ground when Whipcrackaway beat the re-opposing NICHOLASCOPERNICUS at Nottingham last month. On better terms and with that run under his belt, Ed Walker's colt is expected to reverse running here and open his account. John Dunlop has won two of the three previous renewals so Joyful Spirit must be considered along with recent Yarmouth runner-up Kelpie Blitz. Autarch, Renegotiate and Madame St Clair complicate matters as they have all given the impression there is more to come from them.
