Verdict

Illysantachristina ran well for a long way on her comeback at Stratford and will strip fitter here. Mister Hyde is having a confidence-booster, however, as his jumping has gone to pieces over fences while Black Phantom is creeping back up the weights again despite not winning. Sir Mattie was put up 8lb after winning over 3m here in March so we'll stick with the mare MAVALENTA, who is also 8lb higher than a recent course success but had the proverbial ton in hand that day and could go on the better things. Martial Law had some decent form on the Flat and is unexposed over hurdles so could be the most interesting of the others.
