Verdict

Nothing leaps off the page in this modest heat but the way KILMORE WEST was backed at Chepstow after a lengthy lay-off suggests connections think he is capable of a lot better. That run should have brought him on and he can reverse that form with the more exposed Lightening Fire and land this. The Composer isn't easy to catch right but is back on the same mark as when successful at Newton Abbot a year ago and can't be ignored while Tin Pot Man beat Rifleman at Taunton in March, though the softer ground here is a concern. Call Me Sir was fancied at Exeter last week but never looked like winning and is probably best watched now.
