Verdict

Face Value finished first past the post on his hurdling debut over the C&D in October but was later disqualified after a banned substance was found in his system. He's since won on Polytrack at Wolverhampton and has changed stables. Knocklong made a promising start over timber at Gowran before winning a Naas bumper. He didn't run badly in a Listed bumper at Limerick last time and must be on the short-list but it's ROSSVOSS who looks the one to beat. Ted Walsh's charge scored on the Flat at Galway in August on good going and though beaten on both starts over timber he's raced in better company and the testing conditions would have been against him. To The Sky was only a short-head behind the selection when both made their hurdling debuts at Fairyhouse and, as he's improved subsequently, looks a major threat. The lightly-raced Roman Flight has been going well on the Flat since his good run at Killarney and is another to note in an open contest.
