Verdict

Pat Hughes has found an ideal opportunity for CADUCEUS to add to his growing reputation despite a massive 13lb rise for his latest success which was gained by 18l in a Fairyhouse handicap. He's very much on the upgrade and will take all the beating here. Corskeagh Royale makes a a quick reappearance after landing a beginners' event at Ballinrobe last week, his first start for eighteen months. He makes his handicap debut on what looks a lenient mark and he's definitely on the short-list. Frisco Depot is a class act as he showed when landing a Grade 2 at Limerick and though struggling when unseating his rider in the Champion Novice Chase at the Festival here this is a big drop in class. Bishopsfurze has his first start in a handicap and may have finished closer to Flemenstar in the Powers at Fairyhouse but for being hampered at the third last so he's another with chances in a tough event while Mister Farmer won very easily at Fairyhouse last time though he's held by the selection on earlier running.
